Ronda Rousey Says She Has No Reason to Return to WWE

Rousey has shown zero interest in a third WWE run. The former world champion said her backstage experience with the company brought nothing but unnecessary anxiety, and that the releases of her closest friends wiped out one of the few reasons that could have brought her back.

Speaking with Raj Prashad of Yahoo Sports, Rousey explained her stance:

“It was a lot of needless anxiety and things like that. And the whole company was just a chaotic sh*t show on the inside. And then they ended up dropping all my friends. So I really have no reason to go back. I wanted to do a run with the Four Horsewomen and I never got to do that.”

Rousey was primarily referring to Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke, her fellow members of the MMA Four Horsewomen. WWE actually teased a feud between the quartet and Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and Sasha Banks during the 2017 Mae Young Classic, but the match never materialized.

Rousey’s last WWE match came at SummerSlam on August 5, 2023, where Baszler defeated her former partner via technical submission in an MMA Rules Match.

Despite those remarks, Rousey did return to pro wrestling on March 15, 2026, making a surprise appearance at AEW Revolution alongside Marina Shafir during a segment involving Toni Storm.

Two months later, Rousey doubled down on having no plans for a regular pro wrestling schedule. The former WWE star said even a part-time commitment doesn’t fit her current family life, though she left the door open for one-off appearances if the right opportunity comes along.
