Trick Williams announced on Friday’s SmackDown that he will challenge Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Championship next week.
In a backstage interview with Cathy Kelley, Williams said he talked to Nick Aldis and got the match made for October 30.
The announcement came after Williams interrupted a promo by Zayn, who was accompanied by Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. Zayn called himself the smartest man in WWE and said no one survives adversity the way he does.
Williams pushed back on those claims and demanded a title shot. But Zayn turned down the challenge and again said Williams doesn’t have the “It Factor,” despite his success since arriving on the main roster.
The two had already confronted each other on last week’s SmackDown, when Williams defeated Gargano and came face-to-face with Zayn after the win.
Next week’s SmackDown will take place at the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, West Virginia.
The Undisputed WWE title defense will take place ahead of Crown Jewel on November 7, where Zayn is set to face Roman Reigns for the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship.
