Trick Williams challenged Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Championship during the opening segment of Friday’s SmackDown at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
Zayn opened the segment with Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae at his side. He criticized those who have questioned his reign and talked about the potential challengers looking to take his title, including Mr. Money in the Bank Penta.
Rey Fenix interrupted the promo and warned Zayn to watch how he talks about Penta. Zayn responded that his problem wasn’t only with Penta but with anyone who disrespects him.
Williams came out next and demanded a shot at the Undisputed WWE title, but Zayn turned him down.

Gargano also got involved in the argument, which led Nick Aldis to step in. Aldis announced that Zayn and Gargano would face Williams and Fenix in a tag team match later in the night.
The feud between Zayn and Williams has included two United States Championship matches this year. Williams defeated Zayn at WrestleMania 42 to win the United States title and beat him again in their rematch at Backlash to retain it.
Williams interrupted Zayn on the October 16 SmackDown and ended up in a match against Gargano. Williams won the non-title match despite LeRae’s attempts to interfere.
