Vince Russo criticized Seth Rollins after video surfaced of Rollins and Becky Lynch being surrounded by fans at the Mexico City airport during WWE‘s recent trip to the country.
In the footage, Rollins moves quickly through the terminal while Lynch ends up boxed in by people holding phones and cameras. Security had to step in and clear a path so she could keep moving.
On a recent episode of The Coach and Bro Show, Russo addressed the incident and said he took issue with how Rollins handled the situation.
“Look, he’s booking it. He leaves her behind! Are you kidding me, bro? Seriously? What is the benefit of the doubt here? Can you not grab your wife by the arm and take off with her?”
Russo also pointed to the safety risk of being surrounded by a crowd in a foreign country, while acknowledging that Lynch is capable of looking after herself.
“Absolutely scary, especially when you are in a different country. You don’t know who has a weapon. Can we not grab her by the wrist and take her with you? Seth, seriously, bro.”
The incident came after a busy week for WWE in Mexico. The company held events in Guadalajara and Monterrey, along with SmackDown on September 11, the second night of Triplemanía 34 on September 13, and Monday Night RAW on September 14 — all three at Arena CDMX.
That RAW episode marked the show’s return to Mexico City after 15 years. The airport footage, however, captures only a few seconds of the incident and does not show what happened before or after the recording.
