Seth Rollins praised Chad Gable following his Intercontinental Championship defense on Monday’s WWE RAW in Mexico City.
Rollins called Gable one of the best in the world in an Instagram Story posted Tuesday.
“Watching Gable grow into one of the best wrestlers on the planet has been an absolute treat.”
The praise came a day after Gable tapped out Dragon Lee with the Ankle Lock to retain. After the match, the two embraced in the ring as the Mexico City crowd looked on.
Lee’s title shot had been building since the August 31 episode of RAW, when Adam Pearce gave Gable the right to pick his next challenger. Ethan Page contested the decision, but Lee settled it by beating Page in a No. 1 Contender’s Match.
The run Gable is on traces back to The Undertaker. In a July interview with KFAN, he said it was the Deadman who helped him change how he approaches his matches.
Undertaker told him to stop overthinking and treat everything in the ring like it was real, Gable said, carrying the same mindset from his amateur wrestling days into the pro game.
