WWE is considering running the same Mexico City weekend format again in 2027.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE is looking at bookending Triplemanía 35 with SmackDown and RAW, turning all three shows into a single destination weekend for the second straight year.
WrestleVotes’ source pointed to ticket sales, merchandise numbers, and the overall enthusiasm from both the city and the talent as reasons WWE is already eyeing a return.
“Following the success in Mexico City this past weekend, a source indicates to us that WWE will absolutely consider bookending next year’s TripleMania with both Raw and SmackDown once again, with the goal of making it a true destination weekend in Mexico City.
That source tells us they would be surprised if all three shows didn’t end up happening together again, given the success of this year’s weekend from ticket sales and merchandise to the overall enthusiasm coming from both the city and the talent working the shows.
It is also worth noting that next year’s TripleMania will mark the 35th edition of the event, and we’re told WWE will certainly look to capitalize on that anniversary.”
The September 11 SmackDown, night two of Triplemanía 34 on September 13, and the September 14 RAW all took place at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
Friday’s SmackDown and Monday’s RAW marked the first time WWE had run either show in Mexico City in 15 years.
At Triplemanía 34, El Grande Americano defeated Dominik Mysterio to capture the AAA Mega Championship. On RAW, Roman Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship over Penta.
For now, the 2027 plans remain in the discussion stage, with nothing officially announced by WWE or AAA.
