A wave of new free agents is set to hit the pro wrestling market next week, just under three months after WWE‘s massive round of releases following WrestleMania 42.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, 11 former WWE wrestlers will officially become free agents at midnight on July 23, when their non-compete clauses expire.
The list includes:
- Aleister Black
- Alex Shelley
- Bo Dallas
- Chris Sabin
- Dexter Lumis
- Erick Rowan
- Joe Gacy
- Kairi Sane
- Santos Escobar
- Zelina Vega
- Zoey Stark
All of them were released as part of WWE’s cuts on April 24. The group includes four members of the Wyatt Sicks, along with the Motor City Machine Guns, Kairi Sane, Aleister Black and Zelina Vega.
Despite her name showing up on some lists, Kay Lee Ray, formerly known as Alba Fyre, won’t have to wait until July 23. Her contract simply expired without being renewed, allowing her to return to the U.K. independent scene right away.
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, meanwhile, have already teased a possible signing. In a video posted recently, the duo went through several fictional offers before celebrating when they landed on a mysterious fifth offer. So far, though, their next destination hasn’t been revealed.
The timing lines up with AEW Redemption, set for July 26 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, which has fueled speculation about possible debuts. AEW, however, has not confirmed any signings involving these names.
