The Motor City Machine Guns, the tag team of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, appear to have figured out where they’ll continue their careers following their recent WWE exit.

On Thursday, Shelley and Sabin released a video on their official YouTube channel titled “Release,” in which Shelley tries to help his partner work through the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

In the video, Sabin is shown praying to the likes of Karl Gotch and Harley Race, and even mimics Johnny Gargano’s habit of lying down in different places. WWE is never mentioned by name, but the video is clearly a nod to what the team has been going through since April.

At the decisive moment, the two receive a box filled with documents labeled “Professional Wrestling Contract.” Among the fake offers were promotions like FMW, CyberFight, WAR, IWA Mid-South, Toryumon X and W*ING.

Shelley and Sabin turn down each option until they find one final contract. The moment they see it, both immediately show their approval while angelic music starts playing. Shelley then tells Sabin he has finally reached the acceptance stage. The name of the company they picked, however, was not revealed.

AEW remains the top possibility. According to Fightful Select, people within TNA said the door will always be open for the Motor City Machine Guns, but there’s an expectation that the team’s final destination will be Tony Khan’s promotion. No deal had been confirmed at that point.

Shelley and Sabin have wrestled for AEW before. At AEW All Out 2022, they teamed with Jay Lethal against FTR and Wardlow.

The Motor City Machine Guns were released by WWE on April 24 and are under a 90-day non-compete clause.
