Steven Borden made his AEW TV debut this Wednesday, September 9, during Dynamite: Rebel Heart at Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia.
Alongside TNT Champion Darby Allin, Borden defeated Mark Davis and Josh Alexander of the Don Callis Family.
Before the match, Borden spoke backstage about the pressure of being Sting’s son. He said he spent much of his life afraid of living in his father’s shadow, and explained he decided to face that fear by pursuing a career in pro wrestling.
Allin, who handled part of Borden’s training, made it clear that phase was over and stressed that Borden didn’t need to become a new version of Sting, but build his own identity.
Even though AEW officially presented Wednesday’s match as Borden’s TV debut, it wasn’t actually his first match for the company. On December 10, 2025, before Dynamite: Winter Is Coming, Borden beat Kieran Gray in a dark match in College Park, Georgia.
Borden has gotten more TV time in AEW since All In: London.
During the Falls Count Anywhere match between Allin and Kevin Knight for the TNT Championship, Borden showed up to help Allin against members of the Don Callis Family. Sting also returned during the match, and Borden dove off a ladder onto Brian Cage and Jake Doyle before Allin won the title.
