Blake Monroe officially arrived on Friday Night SmackDown at the end of June but still hasn’t had her first televised match on WWE’s main roster. The long wait, which started when promotional vignettes began airing in April, has been testing the patience of some fans.
“The Glamour” came close to finally facing Giulia, but the match never started after Monroe attacked her opponent before the bell. When WWE tried to run the match again, it was Giulia who returned the favor, keeping Monroe’s in-ring debut on hold.
In an interview with SPORF, Monroe responded directly to fans who have been growing worried about the delay.
“People are very impatient, Have you guys never taken time and care with anything? When you’re dating a woman, what do you think is going to happen on the first date? I’m betting it doesn’t happen, whatever you’re thinking.
You have to wait for a good thing. I have always documented my journey very well so I have a strong fanbase that have seen me go from the independent scene to Japan to America, now to NXT and WWE. So they’re so invested in me and want me to do well.
People can get nervous or scared and I understand that, but you have to have patience. Timing is everything. But I think that’s why people are invested in me, because they know me.”
Monroe has also been preparing changes for when she finally competes. Recently, she said she’ll have something “better” than the famous mirror entrance she used during her time in NXT.
On Saturday, WWE released a segment where Monroe handed Nick Aldis a small bag with the teeth she says Giulia knocked out. Once again, she complained about waiting months for a match. As of now, though, her official in-ring debut on SmackDown still hasn’t happened.
