Swerve Strickland turned heads among AEW fans again this Monday after posting a message about how the company has been using him.

On his official X account, the former AEW World Champion wrote that “Time to start asking questions why swerve aint on tv”, reigniting questions about his absence from recent shows.

The situation stands out because, a few weeks ago, Fightful Select reported that Strickland had been pulled from programming to film promotional material for Warner Bros. Discovery, though the details of the project were not revealed.

However, AEW has since started using him again in its programming. On the May 6 edition of Dynamite, the company aired a video where Swerve set his sights on Bandido in pursuit of more power, with the ROH World Champion responding that Strickland knows where to find him. Brody King also got involved, warning that messing with his friends would have consequences.

It’s worth remembering that Swerve renewed his AEW contract through 2029 and has publicly stated there’s nowhere else he’d rather be, despite acknowledging natural frustrations within the company.

It remains to be seen whether the post was just a way to heat up his rivalry with Bandido or if there’s a real frustration with his current spot on AEW TV.
