Sheamus’ future in pro wrestling is starting to take shape after his long run with WWE came to an end. He has been free to negotiate with other promotions since early October and has now drawn interest from two major companies.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, TNA is interested in signing Sheamus, putting the promotion in competition with AEW, which has had interest in him since July.
There have been new developments on the AEW side in recent days. Some veterans on the roster, particularly those who have worked with Sheamus before, are pushing internally for the company to sign him.
Despite that push behind the scenes, talks between Sheamus and AEW have yet to make significant progress. He has not signed with any other promotion either.
Sheamus left WWE in July after turning down a contract extension that came with a pay cut. His contract did not formally expire until October 1, however, when he became a free agent.
Sheamus last wrestled on the November 17, 2025, episode of Raw, teaming with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day. Shortly afterward, a shoulder injury forced him out of The Last Time Is Now Tournament and led to surgery in December.
TNA, meanwhile, is preparing for Bound for Glory, its biggest pay-per-view of the year, which is set for this Sunday, October 11, in Tampa, Florida.
