TNA made two Hardys vs. Nemeths title matches official during the 7/30 live edition of Thursday Night iMPACT! from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

Matt and Jeff Hardy opened the segment gloating about deleting The Righteous in last week’s Righteous Deletion at the Hardy Compound, a match that also doubled as a TNA World Tag Team Title defense. Nic and Ryan Nemeth cut them off and again called themselves the greatest brother tag team in wrestling history. The Nemeths held the tag titles earlier this year before dropping them back to the Hardys in a four-way ladder match at Slammiversary.

Ryan challenged for the tag titles at Lockdown. Matt accepted before he could finish asking, and Director of Authority Santino Marella came out to make it official. Santino also announced Nemeth defending the TNA World Title against Jeff Hardy and Ryan vs. Matt for next week’s iMPACT.

Nemeth vs. Jeff Hardy had been advertised for the 7/30 show since early July but didn’t take place. It now has a new date.

The title match will be the first time Jeff and Nic have gone one-on-one with a world title on the line. Jeff went over in their only previous singles meeting in TNA, hitting the Swanton for the win on the 5/15/25 iMPACT in Irvine, their first singles match against each other in 16 years.

Nemeth started his second TNA World Title reign on 6/28, beating Mike Santana at Slammiversary in Boston. Jeff is a three-time TNA World Champion with 249 combined days. He last won the belt at Bound for Glory on 10/14/12 and dropped it to Bully Ray in a cage at Lockdown on 3/10/13.

Lockdown is 8/23 at Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, with every match contested inside a steel cage.
