Grayson Waller returned to WWE NXT and took aim at TNA, prompting responses from Brian Myers and Moose. The Australian opened last night’s show by calling the past two years of his career an embarrassment. Waller again set his sights on the NXT Championship. Cruz Montana, formerly known as Mike Santana, was one of Waller’s main targets.

Waller made the comparison while taking aim at Montana’s run as TNA World Champion.

“It ain’t 2005, being the top guy in TNA is like being the best basketball player at the local YMCA.”

Myers, who wrestled in WWE as Curt Hawkins, responded to Waller’s return to the developmental brand.

“This really hurts coming from the guy who got sent back to developmental, ouch bro!”

Moose also responded.

“Bet if he gets fired he will be BEGGING AND PRAYING for a job at the same local YMCA.”

The remarks aired while WWE and TNA remain in a multiyear partnership aimed at creating crossover opportunities for both rosters. At the end of the same show, Waller attacked Montana and Tony D’Angelo, leading new WWE signing Montana to accidentally hit the NXT Champion.

Montana responded hours later on Busted Open After Dark. Montana acknowledged Waller’s frustration but defended the significance of the TNA World Championship. Montana said Waller did not know what Montana had been through to reach WWE.
