
TNA came out of Slammiversary with a strong sense of optimism backstage after one of the biggest events of its year. The show took place this past Sunday at Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts.
According to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, the company was very pleased with how the pay-per-view turned out. Several talents described Slammiversary as an event “the company needed.”
The positive feeling comes at an important time for TNA. The event featured several title changes, including Nic Nemeth defeating Santana to capture the TNA World Championship, while The Hardys regained the TNA World Tag Team Championship in a Ladder Match against The System, The Righteous, and The Great Hands.

The Knockouts division also saw major changes. Xia Brookside defeated Lei Ying Lee to win the Knockouts World Championship, while Rosemary and Allie defeated The Elegance Brand to capture the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship. TNA also introduced the new Knockouts Television Championship, which will be decided in a 16-woman tournament on iMPACT!.
Another notable moment was the debut of Uhaa Nation, formerly Apollo Crews in WWE, who appeared as one of the surprises in Mustafa Ali’s open challenge for the TNA International Championship.
PWInsider also reported that Road Dogg Brian James was backstage at the pay-per-view as both sides continue working on a potential deal for him to join the company. It was also reported that there were no major creative changes from what had already been planned for Slammiversary.
