Uhaa Nation, formerly known as Apollo Crews in WWE, made his official TNA debut on Sunday at Slammiversary, which took place at Agganis Arena in Boston.
The appearance came as part of Mustafa Ali’s TNA International Championship Open Challenge. During the pre-show, however, Santino Marella interrupted Daria Rae and turned the match into a Triple Threat Match.
The two names revealed were Rich Swann and Uhaa Nation. For Nation, it was his first TNA match and also marked his return to the ring name he used before his long WWE run.
As for the match itself, Nation had a standout showing. However, The Order 4 once again proved decisive for Ali. In the closing stretch, Tasha Steelz caused a distraction, while Special Agent 0 appeared and attacked Nation at ringside, using the steel steps.
With Uhaa taken out of the match, Ali took advantage of the opening and overwhelmed Swann, hitting a Backslide for the pinfall to retain the TNA International Championship.
After the match, TNA aired a backstage segment with Moose welcoming Nation, indicating that his arrival may not be limited to a one-off appearance.
