TNA unveiled a new title for its women’s division during Countdown to Slammiversary on Sunday at Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts. The new championship is the TNA Knockouts Television Championship.

The announcement came right after the Triple Threat Match between Indi Hartwell, Mara Sadè, and Elayna Black, which opened the pay-per-view pre-show. Black won the match after hitting Sadè with a double-arm DDT.

Traci Brooks then appeared to reveal the new title. The TNA Hall of Famer announced that the inaugural champion will be crowned through a 16-woman tournament, which will begin on the next episode of TNA iMPACT!

The key detail is that the new title will be defended exclusively on iMPACT!, making it a championship tied to the company’s weekly programming.

Brooks handling the announcement also carried historical weight. She is part of the TNA Hall of Fame and is among the Knockouts previously honored by the company, alongside names such as Gail Kim, Awesome Kong, and Mickie James.

TNA has not yet announced the tournament participants or the exact date of the final.
