Tony Khan confirmed that Toni Storm will return to AEW to get revenge on whoever attacked her backstage and caused her absence from programming. The company president spoke about the matter during the press conference after WrestleDream, held on Saturday in Orlando, Florida, but did not set a date for her return.
The statement comes seven months after the possibility was raised that AEW would not have Storm in the ring for the rest of 2026.
“‘Timeless’ Toni Storm will be back in AEW and looking to get payback for whoever it was that took her out.”
Storm has been out of action since March 18, when she was mysteriously attacked backstage on Dynamite. At the time, Mina Shirakawa pointed to Marina Shafir as possibly responsible, but Shafir avoided confirming or denying her involvement. The identity of whoever carried out the attack remains unknown.
Khan had already commented on Storm’s absence during the press conference after Dynasty in April. At the time, he revealed that he intended to include her in the event, but had to change his plans.
AEW also changed its plans for the Women’s Owen Hart Cup, which was originally supposed to have Storm as the winner and challenger for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In.
