Top Star Reportedly Requested Tatum Paxley’s WWE Main Roster Call-Up

Charlotte Flair reportedly pushed for Tatum Paxley’s call-up to the main roster and her pairing with Alexa Bliss on SmackDown. False Finish reported Saturday, August 8, minutes after Paxley’s SmackDown debut:

“Sources indicate to False Finish that Charlotte Flair requested to have Tatum Paxley join her and Alexa Bliss on #SmackDown.”

Paxley appeared during the main event of the August 7 SmackDown in Philadelphia. Charlotte faced Jade Cargill to close the show, with B-Fab and Michin interfering on Cargill’s behalf. Alexa Bliss returned during the match, and Paxley followed right behind her, hitting a crossbody off the top rope onto both of Cargill’s allies.

Charlotte capitalized to beat Cargill, and the three — Flair, Bliss and Paxley — closed the show celebrating together.

The call-up ties directly into the ongoing Charlotte/Bliss/Cargill program. On July 10, Cargill beat Bliss and then went after Bliss’s arm with a steel chair while B-Fab and Michin held Charlotte back. Bliss returned Friday still wearing an arm brace, leaving Paxley to make the save.

Paxley had been off NXT television since June 30, when she lost to Kelani Jordan and was attacked afterward.

Her feud over the NXT Women’s North American Championship wrapped up before that. Zaria won the title from Paxley on June 9 and retained in the rematch at Great American Bash on June 28.

Paxley is also a former NXT Women’s Champion.
