Lola Vice has wrapped up her run with AAA after roughly a year working regularly in Mexico, adding another strong signal that her call-up to WWE‘s main roster is on the horizon.
In an interview with Andrea Bazarte released by AAA, Vice spoke about how important the experience was in rebuilding the confidence she had lost during her pro wrestling journey.
“When they told me I was coming to AAA, I thought it would only be for a couple of weeks, but I got here and fell in love with Mexico, I fell in love with AAA.
I’m grateful for the welcome I received from the Mexican fans. I knew that coming here would help improve my confidence in the ring.
There came a point when I no longer believed in myself, and they helped me move forward.”
Vice also highlighted during her farewell that she learned a great deal working alongside Mr. Iguana, particularly when it came to making the most of her moments in the ring without letting nerves get the best of her. She made clear that she plans to return to AAA down the road, but as an even bigger star.
The run produced significant results. Vice and Mr. Iguana captured the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship on July 2 and held the titles for 168 days, making four successful defenses before dropping them to La Hiedra and Laredo Kid at Verano de Escándalo.
On the WWE side, Vice won the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand & Deliver but lost the title to Kendal Grey at Great American Bash. On April 8, Grey defeated her again in an NXT Underground Match, after which Vice said goodbye to the crowd once the show went off the air, leaving her gloves in the ring.
As we previously reported, Vice is expected to be called up to the main roster, with Friday Night SmackDown emerging as her most likely landing spot.
