Triple H once again highlighted the importance of WWE’s partnership with ESPN, saying the company has reached a level of daily conversation that did not exist when he was growing up.
Speaking on The Stephen A. Smith Show, WWE’s chief content officer explained that when he was a kid, there was almost no place to follow conversations about pro wrestling outside of his own circle of friends. Now, according to him, that conversation is everywhere, from sports shows to social media and ESPN broadcasts.
For Triple H, the key point is that WWE is no longer appearing only inside its own bubble. Instead, the company has become part of the everyday sports conversation in the United States.
“Because of ESPN, we’re on the top of everybody’s mind.”
One example he pointed to was Danhausen, who has become a recurring presence in NBA and New York Knicks-related content, largely because of his interaction with Stephen A. Smith and the joke surrounding a possible “curse” on the team.

“One of the most frustrating things for me as a kid was when wrestling took place, no matter who it was, there was no place to hear talk about it, find out about it, what was going on. You couldn’t have that… pic.twitter.com/cwZ9f96LmC
The comments come as WWE continues to strengthen its partnership with ESPN. The deal made ESPN the exclusive home of WWE premium live events in the United States, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Money in the Bank.
ESPN has also started airing WWE pre-show and post-show programming, further expanding the company’s presence beyond its traditional broadcasts.
For Triple H, the opportunity created by Jimmy Pitaro and Burke Magnus has given WWE a level of visibility that no other partnership could deliver in the same way. In his view, that kind of daily exposure is invaluable for the company.
The next major test of that integration will come at Night of Champions, which takes place this Saturday, June 27, in Saudi Arabia.
