Rhea Ripley will put the WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy. Triple H confirmed the announcement on his official X account shortly after Friday’s SmackDown.
WWE had already set the stage for the match by announcing that Ripley would kick off SmackDown to respond to Cargill’s challenge for a title rematch.
The bout will be a rematch from WrestleMania 42, where Cargill lost the WWE Women’s Championship to Ripley.
In his post, Triple H pointed to the different styles and personalities of both women, but said they share the same goal: becoming the most dominant star in WWE’s women’s division.
“Different styles. Different personalities. Same goal: Be the most dominant Superstar in the Women’s division. It’s official: Rhea Ripley defends the @WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill at #WWEClash in Italy!”
Clash in Italy takes place Sunday, May 31, at Inalpi Arena in Turin. It will be WWE’s first Premium Live Event held in Italy. The event will stream on ESPN Unlimited starting at 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT.
In addition to Ripley vs. Cargill, the card already features Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther for the Undisputed WWE Championship and Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship.
