Triple H has been one of the most talked-about names among pro wrestling fans during this first week after WrestleMania 42, mostly in a negative way, due to WWE’s recent wave of releases.

WWE’s current Chief Content Officer has been heavily criticized and insulted on social media after names such as Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley), and Santos Escobar were reportedly included on the list of departures.

During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the intense pressure Triple H has been under, stating that the role of WWE’s creative head is one of the toughest jobs in the entire company.

The journalist also noted that, because of Triple H’s ongoing heart health issues, it may not even be worth putting himself through that level of stress, especially since he is already financially secure and has a family.

“The job itself is incredibly stressful. He’s already had heart problems. The point was simple: he’s extremely wealthy, has a weakened heart, and has children. It was almost impossible not to ask: why would he want to go through this? But the truth is, he wanted it. It’s in his blood. It’s deeply rooted in who he is.”

According to Meltzer, despite all the negative comments he has received in recent months, Triple H remains highly respected by wrestlers behind the scenes.

“He is very respected by most of the roster, especially those who came through NXT and see him as a kind of Vince McMahon figure—a fatherly presence, but without the baggage that comes with Vince. Of course, there are always issues when the roster is large: some are being used well, others are happy but believe they could contribute more, and then there are those who are convinced they deserve more than the spot they currently have.”
