AEW did not renew the contracts of Anthony Bowens and Max Caster, and the two former members of The Acclaimed are once again facing uncertain futures.

As previously reported, both deals were set to expire in early October. At the time, Fightful Select reported that there had been no negotiations on new contracts and no word on whether AEW would make any offers.

Fightful Select has since provided an update, reporting that the contracts did in fact expire on October 1.

Bowens, however, remained a part of AEW programming through the final days of his deal. At All Out on September 26, he appeared alongside HOOK and Action Andretti during Samoa Joe’s return, in which Joe confronted Jack Perry.

WWE has also come up as a possible destination for Bowens. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE had at least some interest in signing him should his AEW contract expire.

Bowens and Caster won the AEW World Tag Team Championship in September 2022 and held the titles until February 2023. Alongside Billy Gunn, they also reigned as AEW World Trios Champions from August 2023 to April 2024.
