The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, issued a new security alert on Saturday, October 10, after attacks on King Khalid International Airport, adding to concerns about WWE’s plans to hold Crown Jewel.
In the alert, the embassy advised all U.S. citizens to avoid the airport and the surrounding area. It also said U.S. government personnel need special authorization to use the airport because of the risk of further attacks.
Reuters reported that Saturday’s attack injured several people and led to the suspension of operations at the airport. International airlines, including Kuwait Airways, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways, also canceled flights to the Saudi capital.
Saturday’s attack was the third on the airport this week alone, amid an escalating conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi rebels.

The situation puts even more pressure on WWE, which has Crown Jewel scheduled for November 7 at Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD. The company has not announced any change to the date or venue of the premium live event.
On September 24, WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported major concern within WWE about holding the event. According to the report, the worry was felt both among those who regularly travel with the company and at its headquarters in Stamford.
Despite the worsening situation, tickets for Crown Jewel went on sale on October 2, and the event is still set to stream on the ESPN app in the United States.
