Bobby Roode was recently moved to the alumni section of WWE’s official website, prompting questions about his future with the company.
The change does not mean Roode has left WWE, however. According to an update from Fightful, he remains a producer with the company and recently worked in that role on the August 31 episode of Raw, producing the segment featuring 946’s attack on The Usos.
Roode has not wrestled since June 2022, when he faced Omos at a live event in Texas. He later underwent two neck fusion surgeries. In February 2024, he revealed that he had been medically cleared to return to the ring, though he made it clear that he was content with his new role.
As Roode put it, “I’m quite happy doing this. And I feel like I’ve had a good run.”
Triple H, WWE’s head of creative, also highlighted Roode’s importance behind the scenes in April. He said he had asked Michael Hayes to help develop the former NXT Champion as a producer, and he went on to praise Roode.
Despite the change to his website listing, there is no indication so far that Roode has left WWE. Instead, he continues to play an important role in producing the company’s shows.
