Drew McIntyre has not appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 42, but an important detail about his current status with the company has just been clarified.
Wrestling Noticias previously reported that McIntyre had returned to the United States and was eager to get back in the ring, while earlier reports indicated that no creative plans had been set for his return to television.
However, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reports that WWE is not keeping McIntyre from returning.
Sapp also pushed back on a similar claim on social media, calling the idea that WWE was blocking McIntyre from returning to TV a “complete lie.”

A few days ago, we reported that WWE had no creative plans, despite McIntyre's willingness to return.

That does not mean a date has been set for his return. Sapp recently revealed that he ran into McIntyre at a Pro Wrestling Symphony event in Nashville. McIntyre said he misses wrestling and would have liked to take part in WWE’s recent South American tour. He has also continued training in the ring.
McIntyre’s last WWE TV appearance came at WrestleMania 42, where he lost to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match. During his time away, he worked on the films Highlander and The Last Druid and took part in a microdrama project WWE produced in partnership with ReelShort.
