WWE reportedly plans to change champions more often in its women’s tag team division.

The approach is reportedly behind Michin and B-Fab’s win over Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on Friday’s SmackDown.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE’s creative team wants to move the titles around among different teams, especially when there isn’t a major storyline going on. The company is looking to create opportunities and increase fan interest in the division.

“It’s about drumming up a little bit more interest in the women’s tag team division.”

As previously reported, Michin and B-Fab won the titles after interference from Jade Cargill, who attacked Paxley and allowed Michin to score the win with a Styles Clash.

The title change ended Bliss and Paxley’s reign in their first defense, just 14 days after they won the belts from Fatal Influence.

Brie Bella and Paige had a 91-day reign that ended when Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid beat them for the titles in July. Henley and Reid held the belts for 83 days before losing them to Bliss and Paxley.
