AEW reportedly plans to offer Dralistico a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in December.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Dralistico is dealing with work visa issues, which prompted his recent social media post.
According to Meltzer, people close to Dralistico explained the meaning behind the post, an image of him in handcuffs and behind bars.
“From the AEW standpoint, they are going to make him an offer,” Meltzer said. “I was told from people close to him that the thing with the bars and everything, that’s because of the visa issue. It’s not because he can’t wait to leave like Fenix. His contract is up soon.”
Meltzer’s comments change a reading that gained traction after Dralistico posted the image on Monday. “Maybe not for long?” Dralistico said in the caption. Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer took the image as a possible sign that Dralistico wanted to leave AEW when his contract was up.
Dralistico’s brother RUSH is also dealing with a visa issue. In a post on X, RUSH confirmed that his visa has expired and said he is happy in AEW. Alvarez reported that the situation isn’t expected to be resolved before 2027.
Dralistico has not appeared on AEW television since June 6, when he, RUSH and Sammy Guevara lost to The Conglomeration in an AEW World Trios Championship match on Collision.
The possible new deal also comes after another development involving Dralistico’s family. As previously reported, Dragon Lee signed a new contract with WWE. He and Dralistico trademarked the Hermanos Lee name in September, which sparked speculation about a possible reunion.
