Will Ospreay Makes Surprise Return to NJPW

AEW World Champion Will Ospreay caught NJPW fans off guard on Saturday, October 10, showing up at the promotion’s Road to King of Pro-Wrestling show in Uonuma, Japan.

Ospreay appeared right after an eight-man tag team match in which United Empire’s HENARE, Great-O-Khan, Callum Newman, and Zane Jay lost to Unbound Co.’s Jeff Cobb, Yuto-Ice, OSKAR, and Gedo.

Ospreay’s entrance music hit while both teams were still around the ring. He went on the attack right away, hitting Yuto-Ice with a handspring overhead kick, OSKAR with a Pip Pip Cheerio, and Cobb with a Hidden Blade.

Ospreay then grabbed a microphone and delivered a message.

“The best wrestler in the world has returned to the blue ring. I’ll see you at Ryogoku. And I’m going to bring all the belts back to The Empire.”

The appearance was all the more surprising because the show did not air on NJPW World or on television. Only the fans in attendance saw it live.

Ospreay, HENARE, and Great-O-Khan are set to defend the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship against Cobb, Yuto-Ice, and OSKAR on October 12 at King of Pro-Wrestling in Tokyo’s Ryogoku Sumo Hall.
