Jake “The Snake” Roberts confirmed that he has signed a new contract with WWE and is working for the company following his departure from AEW.
In an interview with Nick Teodoro on YouTube, Roberts briefly talked about what he’s been up to lately. He did not reveal what he’s doing for WWE or the length of the deal.
“Staying busy,” Roberts said. “Not with AEW anymore. I’ve re-signed with WWE. Doing some stuff for them and just enjoying life, man.”
The news comes nearly four months after Roberts confirmed his departure from AEW. He spent about six years with AEW before leaving in July, and most of that time, he worked as Lance Archer’s manager and was aligned with La Facción Ingobernable.
But Roberts’ relationship with WWE didn’t start with the new contract. Back in February 2025, he explained on The Snake Pit podcast that he was able to keep his Legends contract even while he was working for AEW.
On the podcast, Roberts said he talked to both companies about it. “I told AEW that I was going to try to keep it,” he said. “They said, ‘Fine, do it.’ So when I went to WWE, I told them I was going to work for AEW, and they gave me their blessing.” That allowed him to stay in the WWE 2K games while he was with AEW.
Roberts has also appeared for WWE since leaving AEW. On July 31, he took part in SummerSlam Takeover at the Minneapolis Convention Center, where he was signing autographs and taking photos with fans.
