Zoey Stark, now going by Zoey Serrano, revealed that she nearly took a very different path before signing with WWE in 2021.
During a recent interview on Fightful Overbooked, Serrano shared that she received contract offers from both WWE and TNA at virtually the same time. The competing offers came after her initial TNA appearances under the name Lacey Ryan, not after her departure from WWE this year.
According to Serrano, her time in TNA directly led to WWE taking interest.
“Yeah, I had nothing but great experiences with them. So, in fact, I think because they had me on their platform, that’s what allowed WWE to see, and then (I) ended up getting me signed to WWE. Actually, so I had an offer from TNA at the same time WWE gave me an offer. So I was like, ooh, that’s… really excited to have both, right? So, I mean, we all know what I went with, WWE.”
Before WWE, Serrano made several appearances for what was then IMPACT Wrestling between 2019 and 2020, including a Knockouts World Championship match against Jordynne Grace. She attended a WWE tryout in late 2020 and signed with the company in January 2021.
In WWE, Stark won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside IYO SKY in July 2021. The pair held the titles for 111 days.
Stark left WWE in April of this year after being sidelined since May 2025 with a serious knee injury that required surgery on her ACL, MCL, and meniscus.
