WWE officially retired both Speed Championships on this week’s NXT, ending the men’s and women’s titles introduced in 2024.
The retirement was revealed in a backstage segment. Zaria appeared with the Women’s Speed Championship and confirmed the title was being retired, leaving her with only the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
Shortly after, Lexis King approached Robert Stone about the future of the men’s title and was told it was also being retired.
On the women’s side, the process began at NXT Heatwave, where Zaria defeated Wren Sinclair and Kali Armstrong in a Triple Threat Title Unification Match, hitting an F-5 on Armstrong for the win.
Despite Zaria winning the unification match, WWE’s official records recognize Wren Sinclair as the final Women’s Speed Champion. Her reign began March 17, 2026 and ended at Heatwave.
Lexis King closes out the men’s lineage as the last champion. King won the title on April 21, and was never beaten for it, most recently defending against Lucien Price on the August 18 NXT.
WWE Speed launched in April 2024 as an X exclusive, with regular matches capped at three minutes and title bouts at five. After the series ended on the platform in July 2025, both titles moved to NXT.
