Brock Lesnar has been moved to WWE’s Alumni section following his retirement at WrestleMania 42, formally closing out one of the most dominant runs in the company’s modern history. The update began making the rounds on Thursday after fans noticed a change to The Beast Incarnate’s profile on WWE’s official website.
Lesnar lost to Oba Femi in the opening match of WrestleMania 42 Night 2 in Las Vegas. After the match, he removed his gloves and boots, leaving them in the center of the ring in a gesture traditionally associated with a final farewell from in-ring competition.
WWE itself has since treated the moment as the end of Lesnar’s career. On the Raw after WrestleMania, Paul Heyman asked for Lesnar to be taken out of the now and placed into the forever in WWE’s signature intro.
Even so, the situation has continued to fuel speculation in recent weeks, largely because there had been rumors of one final match at SummerSlam in Minneapolis, a city closely tied to Lesnar’s story. Gunther had been viewed as the most likely opponent for that bout, especially after his recent connection with Heyman.
Lesnar ends his WWE run as a seven-time WWE Champion, three-time Universal Champion, and Royal Rumble winner in 2003 and 2022. He was also the man responsible for ending The Undertaker’s legendary undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30.
