Brock Lesnar’s future remains up in the air in WWE, even after all the farewell presentation the company put together since WrestleMania 42.
According to PWInsider, Lesnar is still listed internally as an active WWE wrestler, despite already being moved to the Alumni section on the company’s official website. On top of that, “The Beast” is still listed as a Free Agent, with no direct ties to RAW or SmackDown.
Lesnar was defeated by Oba Femi on the second night of WrestleMania 42, and right after the match, he left his gloves and boots in the center of the ring, in a moment that WWE itself treated as a possible farewell.
The company even doubled down on that narrative in the days that followed, with special video packages and changes to his TV presentation. However, his new internal status suggests the door hasn’t been fully closed.
Paul Heyman, in an interview with TMZ Sports, said he was also caught off guard by the moment and denied that it had all been planned in advance.
“I was crying. Am I that good of an actor to cry on cue?”
As we previously reported here at House of Wrestling, there’s still a possibility that Lesnar could have one more match at SummerSlam, in Minneapolis, especially because of the wrestler’s deep history with Minnesota.
In other words, even though WWE sold the retirement hard, Brock Lesnar’s situation still can’t be considered a done deal.
