WWE NXT had a bit more breathing room in the ratings this week after hitting a record low in the 18-49 demo the previous Tuesday.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, last Tuesday’s June 2 episode averaged 556,000 viewers on The CW, along with a 0.07 rating in the 18-49 demo. The number was up from the 544,000 viewers and 0.05 demo rating the show drew the week before, when NXT posted the lowest number in its history in the key advertising demographic.

Despite the rebound, the result was still below the show’s recent average. Over the past ten weeks, WWE NXT has averaged 567,400 viewers and a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demo, meaning this week’s episode was still down 2% in total viewers and 12.5% in the demo.

The show also faced heavy competition on broadcast television. The Stanley Cup Final, which aired on ABC, led all of television on Tuesday night with 4.782 million viewers and a 1.31 rating in the 18-49 demo.

On the show itself, Tony D’Angelo defended the NXT Championship against Kam Hendrix in the main event. Lexis King also put the WWE Men’s Speed Championship on the line against Romeo Moreno, while Zaria faced Lizzy Rain and was confronted by Tatum Paxley after the match.

WWE is also continuing to build toward NXT Great American Bash, which will take place on June 28 at 7 p.m. ET and air live on The CW. It will be the first NXT premium live event to air on the network under the brand’s new deal for specials.
