SummerSlam 2026 remains scheduled to take place at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, despite recent reports about damage to the stadium’s roof.
In recent days, local outlets in the United States reported that a large section of the stadium’s roof will need to be replaced due to damage from a severe hailstorm on August 11, 2023. The issue affects the translucent portion of the roof, which accounts for roughly 60% of the full structure.
As of now, however, there is no indication that WWE’s premium live event is in jeopardy or that it will need to move to another venue.

According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, which oversees the stadium, has opened a process to receive bids for repair or replacement work on the damaged area. The authority said an engineering review determined that the damage does not affect the roof’s structural performance or safety.
In other words, despite the need for major work, the situation is being treated as a maintenance and preservation issue for the stadium, not an emergency that would prevent events from taking place.
SummerSlam 2026 is set to be a historic event for WWE. Along with marking the company’s first stadium event in Minneapolis, it will also be the first two-night edition of SummerSlam, following the same format as WrestleMania.
