Zilla Fatu may be very close to signing with WWE, but his debut is not expected to happen directly alongside Roman Reigns in The Bloodline.
According to False Finish, when Fatu was at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, there were talks about him starting his WWE run in NXT before eventually being inserted into any main roster storyline.
Dave Meltzer also reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Fatu is expected to start with WWE soon, following previous reports that the company planned to sign him if the deal had not already been completed.
Zilla’s name naturally stands out because of his connection to the Samoan wrestling dynasty. He is the son of the late Umaga and the cousin of names such as Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Solo Sikoa, and Jacob Fatu.
Even so, the idea of an initial run in NXT makes sense. Fatu is still early in his in-ring career, having started in 2023 with Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling. Since then, he has also worked for House of Glory, 4th Rope Wrestling, and TNA, while also winning titles on the independent scene.
Another important point is that Zilla himself admitted in an interview with Chris Van Vliet that he still needed to improve before reaching the level he wanted for WWE.
