Zilla Fatu keeps "The Main One" nickname in WWE after crashing the NXT main event on his debut.

Zilla Fatu’s WWE Nickname Revealed

Zilla Fatu isn’t expected to undergo any major rebranding now that he’s in WWE. The wrestler will continue going by “The Main One,” the nickname he carried well before signing with the company.

WWE signaled as much following Fatu’s NXT debut this week. In content posted by the brand after the show, Umaga’s son was billed as “The Main One,” carrying over one of the defining elements of his indie run.

The moniker isn’t a WWE creation. Fatu has been using “The Main One” since at least 2024, when he was working for Reality of Wrestling. He continued using it throughout his lengthy run with House of Glory, and the name appeared in interviews and match announcements over the past couple of years.

Fatu made his official NXT debut on Tuesday night, August 11, crashing the main event between Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana, a match to determine Tony D’Angelo’s next challenger for the NXT Championship. He laid out both men, leaving the match without a finish ahead of Heatwave.

Before leaving ringside, Fatu stood face-to-face with D’Angelo and declared himself the new sheriff in town, signaling that he could be stepping right into the NXT Championship picture.

The arrival had been in the works for a while. Back in June, Fightful Select reported that Fatu was expected to sign with WWE after being spotted at the Performance Center.
