Add as a preferred source on Google Brock Lesnar left the door wide open on his WWE future again Saturday night, dropping the Hell in a Cell main event to Oba Femi on Night One of SummerSlam in Minneapolis.
Lesnar rolled out of the ring after the finish, then came back in to shake Femi’s hand and hug him. He grabbed a mic and put Femi over as the future of the company while calling himself the past.
It was a much more direct sendoff tease than the one at WrestleMania 42, where Lesnar left his gloves and boots in the ring after his first loss to Femi, hugged Paul Heyman and waved to the crowd. That ended up being an angle — Lesnar was back weeks later and beat Femi in the rematch at Clash in Italy.

At SummerSlam, Femi kicked out of everything Lesnar had, including a Tombstone on the exposed wooden boards after Lesnar peeled the canvas back, before hitting the Fall From Grace for the win. It was Lesnar’s first loss inside the Cell, snapping a 2-0 record built on his two wins over The Undertaker. Femi takes the trilogy 2-1.
Nothing has been made official on the retirement front. As Wrestling Noticias noted going into the weekend, WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported the feeling within WWE was that this wouldn’t be Lesnar’s last match, with one source expecting him to disappear from TV for a while before resurfacing ahead of WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.
Triple H has also said Lesnar has been working with Femi behind the scenes, which made the post-match hug land as a legitimate passing of the torch.
