Add as a preferred source on Google Tom Brady appears to be getting closer to making some kind of appearance in WWE. During a live taping of Cody Rhodes’ podcast at Fanatics Fest, the former NFL player said he’s expecting an invite from Nick Khan and that he wants to compete in at least one match for WWE at some point.
Brady made it clear he’d like to work as a heel, playing off the rejection he faced for much of his NFL career. Cody, for his part, said the invitation for him to get involved with WWE remains open.
Adding even more fuel to the buzz, Brady got into it with Logan Paul at Fanatics Fest, going as far as slapping him across the face. The two have been trading shots on social media and at live events for months.
With that backdrop, here are five possibilities for Tom Brady’s WWE debut.
5 – A New Member of The Vision
One possibility that comes to mind is Brady showing up as a new member of The Vision, playing off his connection to Logan Paul.
Even after the slap at Fanatics Fest, WWE could reveal that the whole confrontation was planned by both men. Brady would enter the company as a corporate figure, using his influence and standing as one of the biggest names in NFL history to strengthen the group.
That scenario also fits Brady’s desire to work as a heel. He could play an arrogant character, touting his accomplishments and treating WWE wrestlers like lesser athletes.
The problem is that The Vision already has a lot of members and is going through a rocky stretch. Even so, Brady could fill a role similar to an advisor, showing up only at the major events and leaving the matches to Logan Paul, Austin Theory and Bron Breakker.
4 – A Surprise Attack on Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes was the one who publicly opened WWE’s door for Brady. That makes the American Nightmare a perfect target for a first appearance.
Brady could show up on SmackDown to thank him for the invite and talk about his desire to compete. During the segment, he’d attack Rhodes, making his intentions clear right away and setting up a future match between the two.
WWE would immediately have a rivalry with massive reach that could easily break out of the pro wrestling bubble. Cody and Brady are both referred to as “QB1” in their respective worlds, something already used to promote their sit-down at Fanatics Fest.
A match between them could expose Brady’s natural limitations, since he’s already close to 49 and has no pro wrestling experience. Still, WWE could book a tag team match, pairing the former New England Patriots player with an experienced wrestler against Rhodes and a partner.
That would be a safe way to turn Brady into a big attraction without asking him to have a grueling match.
3 – Turning on Rob Gronkowski
During his conversation with Cody Rhodes, Brady brought up Rob Gronkowski as one of the reasons he believes he can compete in WWE, too.
Gronk already has a solid history with the company. He helped Mojo Rawley at WrestleMania 33, hosted WrestleMania 36 and even won the now-defunct 24/7 Championship. WWE could use that connection to bring Brady in. Gronkowski would introduce his old football teammate, playing up their friendship and everything they accomplished together in the NFL.
Brady, though, would turn on Gronk during the segment, claiming he was always the real reason behind the duo’s success. That would quickly establish the heel character he wants.
The match could bring in other names, since Gronkowski has never had a singles match in WWE. A tag team match with Brady and Logan Paul against Gronk and a babyface star would lower the risk while still carrying strong commercial appeal.
2 – A Marquee Attraction for WrestleMania 43
WrestleMania 43 is set for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027, marking the first time the event will be held outside North America.
Given the Saudi investment and WWE’s recent track record with celebrities, this looks like the ideal event for a Tom Brady match.
The company would have several months to get the former player ready at the Performance Center, build a storyline and pick an opponent capable of carrying the match. Names like The Miz and Logan Paul have enough experience to handle that role.
WrestleMania 43 will also need attractions that can reach a worldwide audience. Brady is one of the most recognizable athletes of the last few decades, and his debut would give the event a reach that few names could match.
1 – A Rivalry with Logan Paul
The most likely path to a Tom Brady WWE debut, though, is a rivalry with Logan Paul.
The two have been going back and forth since February, when Brady downplayed Logan’s abilities during a discussion about a flag football game. The story carried into the following months and hit its peak with the slap at Fanatics Fest.
Dave Meltzer also reported in March that the exchange of shots between them was part of a storyline, and that WWE and Brady were negotiating a possible appearance for him at WrestleMania 42, which obviously never happened.
Logan is recovering from a triceps injury suffered in May. The initial timeline called for about six months of recovery, which could put his return near the end of 2026.
That would give WWE plenty of time to bring the rivalry to its TV programming during the Road to WrestleMania 43.
Even though Brady wants to work as a heel, Logan Paul’s personality would naturally make him the heel of the rivalry.
Of all the scenarios, this is the one that already has a story in motion, a physical confrontation and months of trash talk behind it. If Tom Brady really does step into a WWE ring, Logan Paul looks like the most likely opponent.
