Tom Brady revealed that he’s willing to have at least one match in WWE after retiring from the NFL in 2023. The former quarterback won seven Super Bowl titles, an NFL record.
In a live appearance on Cody Rhodes’ “What Do You Want To Talk About?” during Fanatics Fest in New York City, Brady said he’s still waiting for an invite and called on Nick Khan to come up with a storyline for him.
Brady said the following:
“I need to get an invite. I’ve been waiting for Nick Khan to come up with some storyline for me to get in the mix. I’m retired from football, I have an opportunity to go out there, still showcase I’m a little bit of an athlete. My boy Gronk’s done it, I’ve seen Logan Paul do it, I think I could get in there for at least one match, right? Come on Nick, make it happen,” he said.
Rhodes’ response was positive. The American Nightmare said “the invite is certainly open,” while Brady also made clear he’d like to work as a heel, capitalizing on the rejection he faced in opposing stadiums throughout his NFL career.
The Brady-WWE flirtation has gained momentum over the past few months. Before a flag football game with Logan Paul, the former quarterback called pro wrestling “cute” and questioned the wrestlers’ athleticism. After the event, though, he praised Logan and said he was impressed by his dedication.
Brady also pointed to Rob Gronkowski, his former teammate with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as an example. Gronk helped Mojo Rawley at WrestleMania 33 and won the WWE 24/7 Championship at WrestleMania 36.
