Tom Brady has once again been linked to WWE following a series of jabs with Logan Paul. At Fanatics Fest on July 16, the seven-time Super Bowl champion told Cody Rhodes he believes he’s capable of competing in at least one match, and that he hopes Nick Khan puts together a storyline to bring him into the company.
A day later, Brady slapped Paul during a panel at the event. The two also exchanged obscene gestures during the World Cup final on July 19, before TMZ Sports reported that WWE and the former quarterback are in talks about a possible partnership.
Speaking with TMZ Sports at Los Angeles International Airport, Alexa Bliss said she’s all for the idea of Brady joining WWE, though she warned about how physically demanding pro wrestling can be.
“I think it’s always fun when someone comes into our world because then they learn how difficult it actually is and how intense it actually is. A lot of people that come from other backgrounds and everything have amazing athletic ability, but nothing prepares your body for what goes on in WWE. Especially my first day. My first day, I was not prepared and it’s a rude awakening. I think it’d be awesome. I’m always excited with anybody that comes into our world and because you learn a lot of respect for it and you learn how difficult it is. To see people come in like Bad Bunny, who came in and was so respectful took it seriously, trained hard. Logan’s come in, he’s trained hard. There’s so many people that come in and embrace it. Whenever anyone else comes into our world and fully embraces it, it’s always fun.”
So far, no Brady appearance has been officially announced. WWE had already discussed WrestleMania 42 with him, but the negotiations didn’t go anywhere, and Brady was left off the show.
Bliss’s comments underscore that Brady’s acceptance backstage will come down more to his training and commitment than to his NFL background. The recent back-and-forth, meanwhile, makes Logan Paul the most obvious opponent for a possible debut.
