The match was set up on Thursday’s AEW Collision. Backstage, Brody King and Bandido thanked Page for the assist on Dynamite, and Hangman offered to be the third man, pointing out that he can’t challenge for the AEW World Championship anymore. Bandido pitched “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” as the team name.
The Demand answered a short time later.

Ricochet, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona won the titles the night before on Dynamite, beating The Conglomeration’s Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly with help from The Lethal Twist, as Blake Christian hit Cassidy with a belt shot to set up Ricochet’s Spirit Gun. Both groups kept up the beatdown after the bell. King ran out and got overwhelmed before Page came through with a barbed wire chair to clear the ring.
Before accepting the challenge, The Demand made its first defense on Collision, beating The Rascalz trio of Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed.
Grand Slam: Mexico goes down 8/5 at Arena México in Mexico City, airing live in the U.S. on TBS and HBO Max at 8 p.m. ET.
The match also puts Bandido in position to leave the week in Mexico as a double champ. The night before, he defends the ROH World Championship against Bárbaro Cavernario at the AEW vs. CMLL show at Arena México, which streams on MyAEW.
