MJF made his return to AEW programming after four weeks away, and he wasted no time inserting himself into the World Championship picture.
During Wednesday’s Dynamite: Grand Slam Mexico, held Wednesday at Arena México, the former AEW World Champion showed up right after Andrade El Idolo defeated Tommaso Ciampa and Komander to earn the first spot in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In: London.
While Andrade was celebrating in front of the crowd, MJF snuck up from behind and blasted Andrade with the AEW World Championship belt he once held. He then ripped the Dynamite Diamond Ring away from Andrade, who had held it since July, and continued the attack before tossing him off the ramp onto Komander.
Mic in hand, MJF said he’s still the true world champion and blamed Will Ospreay for his own title loss to Kenny Omega at Beach Break.
MJF also announced he’ll be in action next week’s episode of Dynamite in Las Vegas, where the winner will earn the second spot in the Casino Gauntlet.
MJF has gone this route before. On July 12, 2025, he won the Casino Gauntlet at All In: Texas and held the contract for more than five months. On December 17, 2025, he returned and turned the AEW World Championship match at Worlds End into a Fatal 4-Way Match, then, ten days later, defeated Samoa Joe, “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland to win the title.
