AEW has announced a one-time schedule change for Dynamite, with the first episode of 2027 set to air on a Friday as part of New Year’s Smash.
New Year’s Smash will run as a television special with live shows on two straight nights.
Dynamite: New Year’s Smash is set for January 1, 2027, and Collision: New Year’s Smash will follow on January 2, 2027. Both shows will air live from Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia, in the Atlanta area.
AEW’s promotional graphic for the shows features Mercedes Moné, Persephone, The New Level and Kevin Knight. But no matches have been announced for the specials so far. Start times for the two broadcasts have not been posted on AEW’s official schedule either.
It won’t be the first time Dynamite has aired on a Friday. In 2021, when the show was still on TNT, AEW moved a few episodes because of the NBA playoffs.
