AEW has officially set the men’s final of the 2026 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, with the winner earning an AEW World Championship shot in the main event of All In: London.
Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland will face each other at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, which is set for June 28 in San Jose, California.
The final was confirmed last night during the Summer Blockbuster edition of AEW Dynamite in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Strickland defeated Brody King in the main event in the tournament’s final semifinal match.
Strickland’s win, however, did not come clean. Prince Nana hit King with a foreign object while referee Aubrey Edwards was distracted, allowing the former AEW World Champion to hit a Vertebreaker and score the victory.
Ospreay, meanwhile, punched his ticket last week by defeating AEW National Champion Mark Davis by submission, also in the main event of Dynamite. In the tournament, the British star also got past Samoa Joe in the quarterfinals, while Strickland eliminated Bandido at Double or Nothing.
This will be the third AEW meeting between Ospreay and Strickland. Their first match came at Forbidden Door in 2024, when Strickland retained the AEW World Championship. Their second, which took place on the 2025 Summer Blockbuster edition of Dynamite, ended in a 30-minute time-limit draw.
The winner of the final will challenge the AEW World Champion at All In: London, which takes place on August 30 at Wembley Stadium. The title is currently held by MJF, who regained it at Double or Nothing.
Forbidden Door will also feature Kenny Omega against former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr., as well as a Steel Cage Match between the teams of MJF and Mark Briscoe.
