The second edition of AEW Grand Slam: Mexico produced one of the strongest financial results in company history. The Dynamite special was held May 8 at Arena México in Mexico City.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the live gate comfortably cleared $600,000, placing the show among the highest-grossing television tapings AEW has ever run.
That figure stands out even more against the biggest Dynamite gates on record. The first Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium in 2021 drew approximately $960,000. The following year, AEW set its TV-show gate record by topping $1 million, pulling in roughly $1.02 million.

2:08 PM · Aug 14, 2026Post-show estimates also pegged attendance at approximately 16,000 fans inside Arena México. Prior to the event, WrestleTix could only track 5,970 distributed tickets, as entire sections, including bleachers and balconies, were not visible on the seating map used for tracking.
The success carried over to U.S. television as well. Grand Slam: Mexico averaged 694,000 viewers on TBS, a 3% bump over the prior week’s Dynamite. In the 18–49 demo, the show drew a 0.14 rating and tied for second among cable primetime programs.
In the ring, the night featured MJF’s return, Hangman Page, Bandido, and Brody King capturing the AEW World Trios Championship, and Will Ospreay defeating Mark Davis in a Mexico City Street Fight in the main event.
