The Butcher, who died on September 5 at age 48, will remain permanently listed on AEW‘s official roster page.
A new update from Fightful Select says AEW plans to keep Andy Williams listed on its official website as it has done with Mr. Brodie Lee, who has remained in the men’s section of the site since his death in December 2020.
The decision had begun to take shape even before Williams’ death. The Butcher and The Blade became free agents when their contracts ended in June, but Tony Khan insisted that both remain on AEW’s roster page.
The plan is to keep The Butcher on the AEW roster page permanently, much like Mr. Brodie Lee. ♥️

Williams died after falling ill during an Enjoy Wrestling show in Pennsylvania. AEW dedicated the September 12 episode of Collision to his memory, opening the show with a ten-bell salute and closing it with a special video.
The episode also featured The Butcher Battle Royale. Williams’ close friend Daniel Garcia won the match and received $100,000 to donate to a charity of his choice in Williams’ name. He later chose MusiCares.
The Butcher made his AEW debut alongside The Blade in November 2019 and teamed with him for much of his time with the company. Williams also finished his AEW run holding the company record for most battle royal eliminations, with 26.
