Kenny Omega will be one of the notable absences from AEW All Out tonight in Chicago, after main-eventing the company’s most recent pay-per-view.
In a new update, Fightful Select reports that Omega was never part of the plans for All Out. His last appearance on AEW programming came on August 30 at All In: London, where he lost the AEW World Championship to Will Ospreay in the Wembley Stadium main event.
Omega has not been back on television since. His second reign as AEW World Champion began July 8, when he defeated MJF on the Beach Break episode of Dynamite, and lasted just over 50 days.
Despite his absence, there is no indication that Omega has retired. During a recent appearance at the Tokyo Game Show, he discussed the toll his match against Ospreay took on him, but he made it clear that he intends to return.
Omega said, “It is not the end. Please support me for next time too.”
Matt Jackson also recently addressed the future of his Elite stablemate, saying he expects Omega to recover and return in better shape.
As of now, however, no date has been announced for Omega’s return to AEW television.
All Out is scheduled for Saturday at NOW Arena in Chicago, where Will Ospreay will defend the AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley in the main event.
